Nikki Chawla

nikki-chawlaBorn in New Delhi India, raised in New York since the age of two by loving Sikh parents, Nikki Has always been a mischevious rebellious child willing to take chances. Nikki loves to laugh but raised in a strict Sikh family, laughing too much was thought of as “Unlady-like”. In fact, Nikki would find humour in every place she would go, especially in elementary school, where one day her fifth grade teacher asked her to sit outside because she was laughing too much. Teachers would always change her seat because they thought she was too happy. Nikki never knew that her love for laughter would one day land her on stage to perform in front of an audience.

Along with being a clown in class, her love for entertaining audiences began watching the “I Love Lucy show”. She would immitate Lucille Ball at home and started to immitate any one she came across. When asked by her father, what do you want to be when you grow up? Nikki said, a comedian. Her dad’s eyes popped out like a bug’s bunny cartoon and Nikki knew that she would never utter such words again.
As years past, Nikki pursued other careers, followed her father’s footsteps to be a lawyer. but reading all those legal books, hurt Nikki’s brain. Then she pursued a masters in teaching and became a teacher. Until, her calling finally came to pursue her dream in comedy and when she went to watch a comedy show. She said to herself, “I want to do this, this is where I want to be.” Nikki now performs all over the country.
