Matt Scarpelli

matt-scarpelli1A Staten Island native, Matt Scarpelli was born in Castleton Corners in 1974. To the surprise of many, he graduated from St. Teresa’s Elementary School. Matt moved onto Susan Wagner High School where, due to differences with management, he was forced to leave (expulsion for truancy). This ultimately landed him at Concord High School where he graduated to the surprise of many.

Scarpelli went to the College of Staten Island for three semesters but decided sand and palm trees on campus was more conducive to learning so he moved to Florida where he attended FAU in Boca Raton for two semesters. Due to a demanding schedule, Matt was forced to leave FAU (too drunk to attend classes). He went on to Full Sail in Winter Park, Florida where, to the surprise of many, he graduated with a Film Degree.

After graduating, Matt went to work in commercial, television and film production in Florida, New York and Los Angeles. In 2004, Scarpelli began his career as a stand up comedian performing regularly at The Comic Strip, The Improv and the New York Comedy Club in New York City.

Later that year, Scarpelli took his act on the road performing all across the country. Today, Matt resides in Hollywood, California where you can see him perform in a number of different comedy clubs including The Comedy Store, The J Spot and The Laugh Factory. You can also still see Matt on the road when he’s bouncing between the snow and the sand.
